All week I have been combing through my phone, Facebook albums, as well as texting numerous people to create a collection of pictures for these wedding posts. With the help of family and friends, I recreated each event. As I look back it was the same friends and family who helped me this week that made all of these festivities possible in the first place. Just as they were there for me a year ago, today they remain the same loyal friends, always ready to help.
I am going, to be honest with you. It will be picture overload for the next few posts. I just have so much to share! There may even be two posts in one day 😉
My Bridal Shower
My bridal shower was hosted by my two maids of honors in my hometown of Alpharetta, Georgia. It could not have been more special to have all of my girlfriends together in one place.
I’m not incredibly into games, but I admit the toilet paper dress game was fun! If you have not attended a shower where they play this, you try to create a wedding dress out of just toilet paper. Each team has a different person they are trying to create the dress on. Clearly, my mother in law won! Doesn’t she actually look like a bride?! My maids of honors had everyone sign a Lilly Pulitzer apron for me, which is the perfect keepsake for me!
Our Couples Shower
Our friends love any excuse to celebrate! Our couples shower was in Sylva, North Carolina where Hunter is from. We were both living there at the time as well. Do y’all have those friends, who are really like family and you may even think they ARE your family growing up? Mitch and DiAnne are those wonderful people to Hunter and they hosted our couples shower. In fact, Katie their daughter has the most amazing house blog, which you can follow here. If you haven’t followed me for very long, or haven’t guessed by looking at the pictures above, I love Lilly Pulitzer, bright colors, pineapple, and pink. The women who put together this shower went out of their way to create a Lilly wonderland. It’s a good thing Hunter doesn’t mind wearing pink!
Our invitation was created in my favorite Lilly print, Lover Coral. Not only did the invitations have this print, but several pictures around the house were framed in it and our napkin rings and water bottle covers were monogrammed in Lovers Coral as well.
All of the decorations were inspired around the colors found in the print. They even managed to find cushions in those colors!
The food and drinks were amazing. A full bar was set up inside, along with a coffee station. Did I mention that a dessert bar was created as well and one of the desserts was mini peach pies?!
Here are some pictures of Hunter and me throughout the night. My dress was matching, in the same print Lovers Coral, and Hunter coordinated wearing a Vineyard Vines button down.
If you are wondering why Hunter is making that face, our flower girl was just out of picture range, showing him what present we should open next.
I’m sure that by this point in the post everyone is “pictured” out, so I will refrain from posting even more. The last picture I will post is all of the women who came together to create such a spectacular shower. You guys created an evening that was fun, intimate and really showed that you knew who Hunter and I were as a couple. It was perfect and a year later I am still thanking you.
All my love,
Michelle Marie
