While the rest of the country is pulling out sweaters, jackets, and boots, but here in the South that is only wishful thinking. Since we are desperate to change wardrobes we also have come to the realization that we could easily have another month (or 2) until fall weather hits. We can do 1 of 2 things. Pull out our sweaters anyway and be miserable hot or “fake fall” until it actually gets colder.
I love plaid shirts in the fall and I invest in a few lightweight ones each year. A few of my favorites are this one and this one. You can wear them unbuttoned with a lace cami underneath or roll up the sleeves and slip a skirt on. Cordory and suede skirts are everywhere right now and still give you the fall feel without the sweltering heat. Booties are a staple in my fall wardrobe. Most of the time, I don’t wear socks with them or very thin ones if I do, which is perfect for keeping cool.
